Lincoln Square Schools

Residents of Lincoln Square are served by the Chicago Public School (CPS) system, which offers a wide assortment of public, private and parochial schools within the Lincoln Square and Ravenswood neighborhoods. The CPS system serves over 400,000 students in 486 elementary schools, 107 high schools and 20 charter schools.

CPS was built on the concept of the neighborhood schools, private and parochial schools. Families purchasing Lincoln Square real estate or Ravenswood real estate are not limited to attending neighborhood schools, but have a variety of schools and programs to choose from. Families can apply and enroll in Chicago magnet or charter schools which have programs designed to spark children's interest in specialized curricula. Schools offer advanced curriculum in areas such as math and finance, fine and performing arts, international studies, law, science and medicine, military, special education and alternative schools.

Higher education is also available within Lincoln Square, Ravenswood and throughout the Chicago area. The state of Illinois offers a nationally respected system of 9 public universities on 12 campuses, 48 community colleges, and 124 independent colleges and universities. The city of Chicago hosts nearly 50 of these schools, offering a diverse selection of studies, including art and design, business, computer and technology, medicine, law, theology, and culinary arts.
